Our recent Cinco de Mayo celebration was a standout event! On May 3rd, our campus was filled with excitement as students from preschool to high school united in a colorful fiesta to honor Mexican culture. From lively performances to delicious refreshments, the day was filled with fun, food, and cultural appreciation.

The heart of our celebration lay in the performances that showcased our students' talents and enthusiasm. From traditional dance to line dances, each performance had parents cheering for more. To complement the festivities, students, families, and staff indulged in the refreshing taste of Jarritos, served in bags with straws. Our high school students made salsa, guacamole, and quesadillas for everyone to try. Duros de Harina and Pan Dulce were also served.

Students from diverse backgrounds came together to honor and appreciate Mexican culture, fostering a spirit of respect, friendship, and cultural understanding. The celebration extended beyond the school walls, inviting families and friends to join the festivities. South Hills Academy, located in West Covina, California remains a community that nurtures cultural diversity.
